What is Autoptic 2018?

Autoptic 2018 is Minneapolis’s premier comic and independent print festival. Organized by The Autoptic Foundation, and featuring table exhibitions from over 120 local, national and international artists from the world of comics, zines, posters, print and beyond, Autoptic 2018 will allow attendees to meet, purchase work from and interact with some of their favorite and soon-to-be favorite creators. Autopic 2018 is the 3rd time the show has been held, and our hope is that this one will be the best one yet!

Is Autoptic 2018 a comic convention?

Short answer: No. Long answer: Autoptic 2018 will feature artist, collectives and publishers working in any and all fields of comics, prints, zines, posters and much more. While there is a strong comic presense at the show, comic creators make up only about 1/2 of the exhibitors on the floor. If you are a fan of printed, hand-made and limited edition media, chances are there will be something new for you to discover at Autopic 2018, comic books or otherwise.

How much does it cost to get into Autoptic 2018?

Public admision to Autopic 2018 will be free! It is important to us that anyone who wants to come to Autotpic 2018 to check out all of the great work on display and for sale can do so without having to pay admission.

Is there parking at Autoptic 2018?

While there is not parking precisely on-site at The Aria Event Center, there is a pay parking lot directy across the street on North 1st Street. In addition to that lot, there is also plenty of street parking in the neighborhood surrounding The Aria Event Center. In the past, parking for exhibitors and attendees has not been an issue, and we expect that to be the case this year as well.

The application is free! If, after applying, you are allocated a table, you will be asked to submit your table fees at that time.

When are applications due?

We are accepting applications on a rolling basis, so technically there is no due date. However, our jurors will begin to review applications on April 20th, 2018, so if you want to make sure your application is reviewed, you need to get it in by 9:00 a.m. Central on April 20th. Any applications we receive after that will be accepted to our waiting list and will be reviewed if time and table space allows.

I've exhibited at a past Autoptic event. Do I need to reapply?

Yes, we are asking that anyone interested in exhibiting at Autoptic 2018 submit a fresh application for this year's show. We've updated and streamlined out application, so it should only take you a few minutes. You can can start your application here.
